Sadie Bear & Carolyn
Adorable Sadie Bear is a 7 year old Basset Hound/Dachshund mix who underwent surgery to remove some rather large bladder stones. While a fairly common problem, bladder stones, if left untreated, cause pain, bleeding, can damage bladder tissue, and even cause potentially life-threatening blockages. Sadie Bear’s person, Carolyn, lives on SSDI and this was her second major surgery in just a few years.
Carolyn describes the experience of knowing her dog needed surgery she couldn’t afford as “scary” but is grateful that she received help and didn’t have to put Sadie to sleep or relinquish her.
